Lizard Protector Web Content Security: By Invitation Only!
The web is
a very convenient media for conveying information to the masses. However, not all information is made to be shared by everyone, especially where information is confidential and privy only to certain parties. The easiest way to shield sensitive information from prying eyes is to password-protect confidential pages. However passwords are insecure since they can be easily shared with others and/or cracked. So there is no guarantee that confidential data won't be flushed to a third party as the result.
Then there is the issue of lost passwords and management of the whole system which is yet another headache to deal with.
Some companies protect web pages using JavaScript, but these again use password protection - in fact, they include the passwords in the protected pages, so they are very insecure and will fool only beginner computer users in to thinking the pages are protected. Lizard Protector Web Content Security however demonstrates an ***extremely radical approach to protecting online data***:
sensitive web content is encrypted using public key technology ensuring that there are no passwords for users to remember, forget, or pass on to others. Well, why not? - As long as the convenience doesn't become yet another user's headache. In this suite, the headache is not even an issue all major operations - user authorization, data encryption, content publishing, etc. - are done by the administrator managing content delivery. Authorized users simply install a secure viewer, register with the licensing
server, and the protected information that they are authorized to view opens automatically in the viewer window.
Lizard Protector Web Content Security however provides more than just secure access control as a replacement to password based web login systems. Users are automatically prevented from copying protected information - there is no option to save data in unprotected form and screen grabbing is not possible. Printing can be either allowed or prevented, and the administrator can even
determine the number of times a user can print protected pages.
For companies providing subscription services, Lizard Protector Web Content Security enables you to control how long each user can view your protected information, for their subscription period for example, and administrators can revoke access to data even if the user has downloaded it to their hard disk to view offline. This ensures users continue to pay for your services when due. Unauthorized users are provided with the publisher's contact
information so they can request access to the protected information.
Lizard Protector Web Content Security protects both the displayed web page content (text, images, flash) and the underlying source code (html) from unauthorized use. Now, access to protected data is granted by invitation only, and decryption information is locked to individual computers so that it cannot be shared. The licensing server automatically works out who is authorized to view what information and for how long.
That ensures the complete security and gives no headache whatsoever.
