Safeguard PDF security updated with new display & watermark settings

PDF document security software with DRM controls

Date:  March 17th 2008

Locklizard have added new functionality to Safeguard PDF Security to control how secure  documents are displayed, new watermarking features so separate watermarks can be used for print and view, and online help.

Initial View settings

A new tab has been added to the PDF DRM Writer panel called ” Display Settings”.  This tab allows you to specify the initial view setting used when a document is opened (i.e. zoom size, page view, etc.), and, if needed, to prevent the user from being able to change those settings.

Charles Richmond, Locklizard’s product manager, says “some of our publishers have documents that are more akin to powerpoint presentations and it is essential that the document display is maintained in full-screen mode with single page scrolling, since that is how the publisher wants their document to be presented to their customers – and they don’t want customers changing this. Lock Lizard Safeguard’s new display settings ensure this can happen.”

New secure Watermarking features

New tabs have been introduced so that you can specify separate watermarks for print and view so you can have different text and images superimposed for printing and viewing.

This feature has been introduced to allow publishers to select different watermarking for visual presentations as against printed copies.  This means that it is possible to have ‘light’ watermarking on-screen, but a ‘heavier’ watermark on printed copies, or you can use totally different text and images altogether.

Online Help

Safeguard PDF DRM Writer has also been updated with a new online help system to help publishers choose between the new controls available.
