Safeguard PDF DRM viewer gets multi-lingual interface and MSI installer

PDF DRM security for PDF document protection

Date:  November 5th 2008

Locklizard are pleased to make two announcements.

The first is the introduction of their International Viewer for secured PDF documents.  The second is the provision of MSI installation for corporate Windows customers.

“Increasing demand from our international publishers to support their broadening customer bases has been a significant factor in bringing forward this important addition to our capabilities,” said Dr Trevor Mathews, Chairman of Locklizard.  “Whilst there is broad acceptance of English in the technical and IT communities, as we push the boundaries out to broader user communities the importance on national language increases.  We have taken the steps necessary to make local language versions of our viewer rapidly achievable as market demand justifies additions.”

The first local language pack available is Russian, and the French, German, Spanish, Chinese and Dutch languages are currently being worked on.  Further announcements will be made as additional languages are added.

Publishers wishing to implement specific languages in support of local requirements should contact Locklizard Sales on +1 800 707 4492.

Corporate customers with major Windows installations now have available a Windows Installer (still popularly known as MSI) version of the Viewer as an alternative to the ‘traditional’ .exe installer.  This form of packaging offers a number of advantages for corporate IT departments both in terms of facilitating remote installation and making updating simpler.  Going forwards, both the .exe and .msi installers will be made available from the Locklizard web site.

The Locklizard Safeguard Secure PDF Viewer MSI installer can be downloaded here – PDF DRM Viewer MSI install.

About Locklizard Secure PDF DRM Viewer

Locklizard Safeguard Secure PDF DRM Viewer is a FREE standalone application that enforces the licensed use of protected PDF documents  (for example how long they can be viewed, if they can be printed, etc.). Document controls are set and licensed by the publisher and cannot be altered by the user or Lock Lizard.  DRM Copy control measures enforce document protection whilst remaining transparent to the document user – no passwords are required or distributed to grant access to protected PDF content.

Protected PDF documents are only ever decrypted on-the-fly in memory.  Files are never saved to disk in temporary format or to the Windows swap file.  Secured PDF content cannot be compromised by other applications or the common Adobe PDF security flaws and cracks.
